var makerInfo="My work is inspired by my passion for the heritage of traditional craftsmanship and my love of natural materials. The themes of my work arise from the ebb and flow of natural cycles, the relationship between maker and materials and by a deep exploration of the materials themselves. Many of my works start from a found object and I build a form around it, often using natural materials I discover in same location. This element of chance forces me to explore the possibilities of these often unconventional materials. My ability to make use of such materials is rooted in the discipline of traditional basketry technique. click here to see Maggie's CV
all images (c) Maggie Smith 2005";
